From her childhood dreams of life as a treasure hunter, Sofia Kaman’s passion for ancient objects paved the way for an inspired career as a jewelry designer and antiques collector. She began her studies in Geology, and quickly made her way into Art History, then years later to Gemology. The mesmerizing architectural motifs of gothic churches and jeweled colors of miniature Indian paintings captivated her heart. When discovering the art of wax-carving, Sofia knew it was the perfect medium for combining her love for art, nature and history in the creation of timeless jewelry pieces. The fusion of antique and modern references, a quest to sourcest the finest in sustainable materials and desire for modern wearability has long provided the spark in Sofia’s work and the vision behind SKFJ.
