PICO PROJECTS

The Pico Business Improvement District represents the merchants on Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica and orchestrates events, beautification plans and streetscape improvements to make Pico Blvd a vibrant place for shopping, dining and cultural experiences. 

MEDIAN LANDSCAPING

PICO facilitated the installation and beautification of the Pico Boulevard medians. The medians bring color and natural beauty all along the boulevard and add visual appeal and interest to a busy thoroughfare.

STREETLIGHT BANNERS

In 2022, PICO partnered with a local designer to create bright and colorful street banners which hang the entire length of Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica, with a total of 80 banners. Six designs showcase some of the 50 murals on the walls of businesses in the district, and create a sense of cohesiveness along the two miles of street that comprise this vibrant community full of interesting shops, restaurants, recreation and activities. 

MURALS

Pico Boulevard features over 50 murals on walls from Centinela down to the beach, and continues to add new works of art every year.  Many of the murals were created in partnership with the Beautify Earth organization, while others have become part of the local scenery over time.
